Se realizaron trabajos  de mantenimiento al cauce del río Tacó, empleando maquinaria pesada tipo pala excavadora para realizar un dragado del material que ha sido arrastrado y depositado por la escorrentía superficial del río.

Dicho mantenimiento consistió en la limpieza, retiro de rocas mayores, ensanchamiento y profundidad del tramo que comprende una distancia de 500 metros  lineales aproximadamente.

Los  trabajos se realizaron en el sector posterior del cementerio general de la ciudad de Chiquimula
